River Falls - Louis Zutz, Jr.,74, died
peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at his
home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30
a.m.
on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 (today) at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, with Rev. Don
Kirchner officiating. Hal Zutz, Guy Kruse, Randy
Kennedy, Brian Pastir, Shane Zutz and Mike Kruse.
Military honors will be provided by American Legion
of Red Lake Falls and VFW of Thief River Falls.
Interment will be at Wylie Cemetery in Wylie
Township of Red Lake County.
Visitation
will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday
(today).
Louis
Zutz Jr. was born on March 28, 1929 in Wylie
Township, the son of Louis and Frieda (Busse) Zutz
Sr. He was baptized in April of 1929 and confirmed
in April of 1944. He attended Black River School.
Louis was in the National Guard from 1945-1951. He
served in Korea from February 10, 1951 to January
20, 1953.
Louis
was united in marriage to Pearl Cameron in 1976.
Louis
was self-employed as a Line Pole Inspector, working
for Donal Inc., R E A, Minnkota and Roseau
Electric, until his retirement. Following his
retirement he was bartender at Swede's Bar.
Louis
enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing, deer hunting,
spending time with his grandchildren, road tripping
with his buddies, watching sports, especially the
Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings.
He
was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red
Lake Falls, American Legion in Red Lake Falls and
the VFW in Thief River Falls.
Survivors
include his children, Wayne Cameron of East Grand
Forks, Randy Berg (fiancé Judy) of Thief
River Falls, Lori Davidson of Big Lake, Tammy (Tim)
Koste of Perley, and Mitch Wilebski of Thief River
Falls; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Tim Zutz
(fiancé Deb) of Red Lake Falls; sisters,
Marjorie Walters of Atlanta, Ga., Betty (Bud) Kruse
of St. Hilaire, Janet (Jerome) Skjerping of Thief
River Falls, Laurel Pastir-Norbert of Roseau,
Connie (Larry) Kennedy of Grand Forks, N.D. and
Karen (Bill) Philion of Minot, N.D.; and several
nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; his
parents; son-in-law, Dean Davidson; and several
