Zutz, 96
Red
Lake Falls - Frieda Zutz, 96, died Monday,
April 1, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief
River Falls.
Funeral
services were held
Saturday,
April 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church
in Red Lake Falls with Rev. Jeffrey S. Lytle
officiating. Casey Klipping was the organist, and
Mike Lehrer and Mya Zutz were the soloists. Serving
as casketbearers were Frieda's grandchildren.
Interment was in Immanuel Cemetery in Wylie with
Johnson Funeral Service of Red Lake Falls in charge
of the arrangements.
Frieda
Marie Busse was born on August 7, 1905 in Browns
Creek Township near Wylie, the daughter of Henry
and Louise (Weiss) Busse. She grew up and attended
school in Browns Creek Township.
On
February 15, 1929, Frieda was united in marriage to
Louie Zutz at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Wylie.
The couple resided, farmed and raised their eight
children in the Wylie area. Louie died on November
18, 1987.
Frieda
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church until it
closed and she joined St. John Lutheran Church
where she was active in Ladies Aid. She was also a
member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She
enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, flower and
vegetable gardening, cooking, canning, baking,
playing cards and bingo, doing word puzzles, and
especially, spending time with her grandchildren.
Frieda
is survived by two sons, Louis Zutz Jr. of Thief
River Falls and Tim (fiancée Deb Wilmot)
Zutz of Red Lake Falls; six daughters, Marjorie
Walters of Altanta, Ga., Betty (Bud) Kruse of St.
Hilaire, Janet (Jerome) Skjerping of Thief River
Falls, Laurel (Norbert) Pastir of Roseau, Connie
(Larry) Kennedy of Grand Forks, N.D., and Karen
(Bill) Philion of Minot, N.D.; 30 grandchildren; 46
great-grandchildren; four great
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alma (Gerhart)
Zwingelberg of Wicheta, Kan. and Marie Lehrer,
Lucille Lehrer, and Geraldine Flage, all of Red
Lake Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding
her in death were her husband; parents; a
granddaughter, Patti; a sister, Sophie Tischart;
and five brothers, John Busse, Albert Busse, George
Busse, Harold Busse, and Adolph Busse.
