- Eleanore Zacharias, 77, died on Wednesday,
February 5, 2003 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
Memorial
services will be held at
11
a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at United Lutheran
Church in Gatzke with the Rev. Sandra Hollands
officiating. Joy Nordby will be the organist and
Gene Lunsetter and Mike Sistad will be soloists.
Eleanore
Alice Lunsetter was born on January 6, 1926, the
daughter of Norman and Gilma (Lian) Lunsetter in
Grygla. She grew up on the family farm in Gatzke,
attended country school and graduated from Lincoln
High School in 1943. She was baptized and confirmed
at the Landstad Lutheran Church. Following high
school, she went to Minneapolis and worked for
Daytons.
On
January 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to
Eugene Zacharias of Gaylord. He served in World War
II. The couple made their home in Minneapolis and
Crystal. Eleanore worked for some years at the
Target Store in Crystal and, later, worked at the
hospital in Aitkin. When Eugene died in 1990, she
returned to the Minneapolis area. She volunteered
at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis. In 2000,
she moved back to Thief River Falls to be near her
family. Eleanore loved people and had many friends.
She enjoyed and loved her pastor, Sandy.
Survivors
include one son, Robert of Clitherall; a grandson;
a brother, Glenn (Grace) Lunsetter of Gatzke; one
sister, Gloria (Marlyn) Sistad of Grygla; an uncle;
two step-sisters, Arlene Brateng of Grygla and
Marilyn (Kenny) Wiseth of Goodridge; two
step-brothers, Gordon (Patty) Anderson of Pine
Island and Larry Anderson of Minneapolis; and
several nieces, nephews, cousins and other
relatives and friends.
Eleanore
was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her
parents; her step-father; and two step-brothers,
Arvid and Jack Anderson.
