Wimpiri, 71
Grand
Rapids - Earl C. Wimpiri, 71, formerly of
Plummer, died on Friday, September 5, 2003 at Grand
Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand
Rapids.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, September 9 at the
Libbey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kim
Johnson officiating. Interment was in Ft. Snelling
National Cemetery.
Earl
was born in Red Lake County on November 11, 1931.
He attended Wildwood rural school and graduated
from Rushing High School in Plummer in 1951. He
served in the Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a
lineman for a utility company and later worked for
American Crystal Sugar at Crookston and Hillsboro.
He worked for the city of Ada for a few years in
the 1980s.
He
married Betty Mattson in 1958. She died in 1975.
Earl
married Betty Johnson Wells in 1976 in Crookston.
Earl was a member of the VFW and the American
Legion.
Survivors
include a sister, Vivian Olson of Grand Rapids; a
brother, John Christianson of Bend, Ore.; four
nieces; and three nephews.
Earl
was preceded in death by his wives; a sister, Edna
