Kenneth Williams, 55

Crookston - Kenneth E. "Kenny" Williams, 55, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. as a result of injuries sustained in a two-car accident in Crookston on March 29.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m. at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston with lay pastor Roger Ready officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Kenneth E. Williams was born on June 26, 1945 at Santa Rosa, Calif., the son of Robert and Rose (Baumgard) Williams. He moved from California to Crookston in 1976. In 1977, he began employment with American Crystal Sugar Company in Crookston, working as a house mechanic until the time of his death.

Kenny was a member of BCT Workers and Grain Millers Union, AFL-CLO 267-G.

His interests included motorcycles and anything having to do with them. He was co-founder and first president of the Northwest Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. (American Bikers Association Teaching and Education). He had also been very active in judging at area bike shows.

Survivors include two daughters, Samantha (Boyce) Harvey of Lancaster, Calif. and Heather Williams (Mitch Hall) of Crookston; a son, Earl Dodds of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; his father, Robert (Balinn) Williams of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Esther Williams of Auburn, Calif. and Laura Mae Williams of Ogden, Utah; two brothers, George Williams of Crescent City, Calif. and Bobby Williams of San Francisco, Calif.; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother, Laura.
