Rosalia Wilde, 56

Detroit Lakes - Rosalia Wilde, 56, died Saturday, September 29, 2001 at Corona, Calif.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 5, 2001 at Community Alliance Church in Detroit Lakes with Rev. Jerry Dent officiating. Diana Derstine was the organist, and Scott Kallis was the soloist. Casketbearers were Jacob Webel, Karl Webel, Daniel Webel, Charles Pavkov, Larry Zimmer and Cedric Messner. Interment was in Tracy City Cemetery in Tracy. West-Kjos Funeral Home of Detroit Lakes was in charge of the arrangements.

Rosalia Webel was born on June 20, 1945 in Oberzell, Germany, the daughter of Jakob and Katharina (Schleicher) Webel. In 1951, she and her family immigrated to Medina, Ohio, and in 1964, they moved to Akron, Ohio. Rosalia graduated from Medina High School in 1963 and while attending high school, worked for Gross Medina Oil Company. In 1965, she went to work for Merrill Lynch in Akron and eventually moved to Chicago, Ill. to work for Merrill Lynch.

In 1972, Rosalie married Robert Whiting who also worked for Merrill Lynch. Rosalie and Robert became members of the Chicago Board of Exchange. In 1982, they moved to Tulaby Lake in northern Becker County. After Robert's death in 1985, Rosalie moved to Detroit Lakes. She married Dale Wilde on June 12, 1992.

The couple enjoyed flying, fishing and going to their lake cabin in Canada. Rosalia enjoyed collecting dolls and porcelain dogs, antique shopping, gardening and especially, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Wilde of Detroit Lakes; a son, Richard Whiting of St. Cloud; a grandson; her mother, Katharina Webel of Corona, Calif.; four sisters, Elizabeth (Albert) Yovicchn of Carol Fulton, Ohio, Theresa (Charles) Pavkov of Mansfield, Ohio, Katherina (Larry) Zimmer of Corona, Calif. and Christina (Cedric) Messner of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven brothers, Reinhardt (Arlene) Webel and Adolf (Linda) Webel, both of Akron, Ohio, Karl (Grace) Webel of Mechanicsville, Va., Rev. Robert (Marcia) Webel of St. Petersburg, Fla., Daniel (Nancy-Jean) Webel of Milford, Ohio, Dr. Richard (Connie) Webel of Columbia, Mo. and Dr. Jacob (Mary) Webel of Grand Junction, Colo.

Rosalia was preceded in death by her father and first husband.
