- Franklin White, 30, died on Monday, April 14,
2003 at Altru Hospital in East Grand
Forks.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, April 18 at the Redby
Community Center under the direction of spiritual
leader, Tom Stillday, Jr. Casketbearers were
Charles "Chuck" Johnson, Steve McPherson, John
Straubel, Dwight "Binky" Johnson, Charles "Hug"
Johnson, Randy Johnson, Jr., Michael Johnson, Jeff
Roy, Sr., Leo Ferrious and Joe Spears. Honorary
casketbearers were Daryl Barrett, Leroy Slininger,
Jerry Lussier, Terry Lussier, Howard Stately, Kent
Stately, Ira Johnson, Jack Johnson, Leonard
Susunkewa and the Seven Clans Casino blackjack
dealers of Thief River Falls. Interment was in Fox
Point Cemetery.
Franklin
John White was born on July 1, 1972, the son of
Peter Jr. and Margaret (Johnson) White, in North
Country Regional Hospital. He attended school
through the sixth grade at Red Lake School
District. He transferred to the Heartland Christian
Academy in Bemidji and Bemidji High School. As a
sophomore, he participate in the Minnesota State
High School Track Meet. In 1992, he obtained his
GED. He then attended Bemidji State University. He
was employed with Lueken's Village Foods, Nortech,
Telenet and Mason's Bar and Grill in Bemidji. He
attended blackjack training with the Palace Casino
in Cass Lake, where he was employed for two years.
He then worked as a cook at Judy's in Redby.
Following that, he worked at Red Lake Casino as a
cook, and later as a blackjack dealer. In June
2001, he transferred to Seven Clans Casino in Thief
River Falls as a blackjack dealer, where he has
since been employed.
Franklin
loved baseball, softball, football, basketball and
playing darts. He enjoyed spending time with his
family, friends and his special girls, "Berta" and
"Clara."
Survivors
include his mother, Margaret White of Bemidji;
fianceé, Amanda Walton of Plummer; sisters,
Shannon White and Trina Johnson, both of Redby;
brothers, Carl of Redby, Imran "Hodge" of Plummer,
and Charles "Chuck" of Thief River Falls; his
maternal grandmother, Ennis Johnson; and several
uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Franklin
was preceded in death by his father, Peter White,
Jr.; his maternal grandfather, John Frank Johnson;
and his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Fisherman
