- Robert V. Warne, 89, died on Friday, November
22, 2002 at Heritage Health Care Center in Gering,
Neb.
A
memorial service will take place at a later date in
Grygla. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity
in Robert's name.
Robert
V. Warne was born on April 23, 1913, the son of
Jesse and Mabel Warne in Fair Oaks, Ind. On October
14, 1937, he married Norma L. Benson. The couple
lived in Denver, Colo. and Blair, Neb. before
moving to Scottsbluff, Neb., in September of 1999.
Robert was a long distance truck driver for Denver
Chicago/Time DC Trucking Company in Blair, Neb.
until his retirement in 1978. He was awarded many
safe driving awards, including one for 25 years
without an accident. After retirement, he was very
active in his community, helping neighbors with
their lawns and snow removal.
Survivors
include his daughter, Arlene Walker of Sanford,
N.C.; sons, Robert R. Warne of Scottsbluff, Neb.
and Roger Warne of Colorado; two grandsons; two
great-granddaughters; a sister, Irene Tollefson of
Minneapolis; and a brother, Jack Warne of
Grygla.
Robert
was preceded in death by his wife, Norma.
