Thief
River Falls - Ross Walseth, 43, died Thursday,
November 22, 2001 at his home in Thief River
Falls.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday,
November 26, at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief
River Falls with Rev. Donald Kirchner officiating.
Ida Nordvall was the organist, and special music
was provided by soloist Andrea Novak and Ed Walseth
and Chickie Peterson. Casketbearers were Ward
Brink, Joel Hallstrom, Gary Hoglo, Kim Johnson,
Dale Nelson and Guy Kruse. Honorary casketbearers
included the employees of Dean Foods and Hubert's
Outdoor Power. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery,
rural St. Hilaire, with Green Funeral Home of Thief
River Falls in charge of the
arrangements.
Ross Walseth was born on August 11, 1958 in Thief
River Falls, the son of Robert and Jeanette
Walseth. He was baptized and confirmed at Calvary
Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire and attended school
in St. Hilaire and Thief River Falls, graduating
from Lincoln High School in 1976. He worked for a
short time at St. Hilaire Supply and Arctic Cat. In
May of 1977, he began working for Bridgeman's (now
Dean Foods) in Thief River Falls.
On May 24, 1980, Ross was united in marriage to
Karen Koop in Thief River
Falls.
He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church
and a member of the St. Hilaire Snowmobile
Club.
Ross was an avid Vikings fan and enjoyed the
outdoors, snowmobiling, Nascar racing and
hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Thief River
Falls; two sons, Derek and Cody, both of Thief
River Falls; his father, Robert of Plummer; his
mother, Jeanette of Thief River Falls; three
sisters, Jill (Craig) Jonson of St. Hilaire, and
Laurie (Keith) Nelson and Lisa (special friend
Grant Nelson) Walseth, both of Thief River Falls;
and several nieces and
nephews.
Ross was preceded in death by his grandparents,
Victor and Yvonne Walsberg and Sylvia and Thorstein
