Red
Lake Falls - Paul Walker, 55, died on Monday,
April 7, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake
Falls.
Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday,
April 11 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red
Lake Falls with the Rev. Tim Bushy officiating.
Gemma Drees will be the organist and special music
will be provided by the St. Joseph's Choir.
Casketbearers will be Duane Knott, Steve Philion,
Roger Cota, John Sherack, Tom Derouin, Don Fox,
Gary Brantl and Les Hofstad. Honorary casketbearers
will be all of Paul's many teammates and friends.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake
Falls. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m on
Thursday, April 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church
in Red Lake Falls and for one hour prior to
services on Friday.
Paul
Walker was born on March 22, 1948, the son of
Donald and Florence (Keim) Walker, in Red Lake
Falls. He grew up on the family farm and attended
school in Red Lake Falls. He graduated from
Lafayette High School in 1966. He attended college
in Thief River Falls and graduated with a bachelor
of science degree from Moorhead State University in
1970. He taught math at the Plummer School until
his retirement in 2000. Paul was a member of St.
Joseph's Catholic Church. He was involved in many
sports, either as a participant, an official or a
spectator. He enjoyed playing cards with friends
and family. He was a sports statistics and "oldies"
music trivia buff. He enjoyed computer games and
fieldwork on the farm. Paul enjoyed hearing from
his former students.
Survivors
include his parents; three brothers, Al (Pam) of
Red Lake Falls, Lloyd (Charlene) of Grafton, N.D.,
and Brian (Gayle) of Eagan; two sisters, Arlene
(Derald) Mercil of Argyle, and Diane (David)
Malcomson of Rochester; and eight nieces and six
nephews.
Paul was
preceded in death by his grandparents.
