- Donald Wald, 64, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002
at the North Valley Health Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, July 20 at St.
Stephen's Catholic Church in Stephen with Rev.
Vincent Miler and Rev. August Gothman officiating.
Marilyn Hanson was organist and Ann Woinarowicz was
the soloist. Casketbearers were Brandon Rood, James
Wald, Darin Wald, Ron Kressel, Eugen Kuznia and
John Krolak. Interment was in St. Stephen
Cemetery.
Donald
James Wald was born on November 7, 1937, the son of
Frank and Katherine (Senger) Wald in East Grand
Forks. He attended Northwest School of Agriculture
in Crookston, and after he graduated, he farmed
with his father.
On
October 17, 1959, he married Arlene Dietrich. The
couple made their home in Thief River Falls until
1962, when Donald went to work for Northland
Chemical. In 1971, they moved to Stephen, where he
managed Simplot Soilbuilders until his retirement
in 2000.
Donald
spent his free time hunting, fishing and golfing.
He especially loved the company of his
family.
Left
to mourn his passing are his wife, Arlene; four
daughters, Veronica Wald and Patti (Scott) Rood,
both of Brooklyn Park, Lauri (John) Longstreet,
Chanhassen, and Lisa (Justin) Ingham, Minnetonka;
three grandchildren; one brother, Bob (Rita) Wald,
Thief River Falls; three sisters, Carole Wald,
Brooklyn Park, Renee (Brian) Chapman, Union City,
Calif., and Kathy (John) Connelly, Minnetonka; and
one niece and three nephews.
Donald
was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and
Katherin Wald; step-mother, Katie Jo Wald; and
brother, Anthony Wald.
