Alma Wagner, 92

Middle River - Alma Wagner, 92, died Friday, February 22, 2002 at her home near Middle River.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, Alma Wagner Obit February 27) at First Lutheran Church in Middle River with Rev. Mary Ronning officiating. Lois Peterson will be the organist, and Craig Swenson will be the soloist. June Young will deliver the eulogy. Casketbearers will include Dennis McCullough, Gary Peterson, Lloyd Wagner, Connie Burrell, Wesley Pesek, and Ernest Hemp. Interment will be in the German Evangelical Cemetery in Cedar Township of Marshall County.

Visitation was held Tuesday, February 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Alma Alvina Wagner was born on June 25, 1909 in Cedar Township of Marshall County, the daughter of William and Ida (Paetznick) Wagner. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up in Cedar Township where she attended Koepp School. Alma worked on the family farm and was later employed at the Rex Cafe in Middle River for many years. During potato harvest, she also worked on the Conrad and Donald Gryskiewicz farms for several years.

Alma was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle.

She was an avid gardener who enjoyed raising flowers, both indoors and outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Alma is survived by a sister, Ann (Gene) Peterson of Gatzke, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Earl; two sisters, Selma McCullough and Adeline Burrell; and four brothers, John, Anton, Harvey, and Emmett. A00003B2002FB27
