Bebe Waale, 75

St. Hilaire - Bebe Waale, 75, died on Sunday, October 6, 2002 at her home in St. Hilaire.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 9 (today) at 1:30 p.m. in the Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel in Grand Forks, N.D. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services in the chapel.

Bebe Ruth Peterson was born in Heiberg, the daughter of George and Emily (Norman) Peterson. She grew up in Twin Valley and attended Heiberg Country, Simonson and Twin Valley Schools. She was baptized and confirmed at Twin Valley Zion Lutheran Church. She was one of nine children.

On May 28, 1946, she married Hans S. Waale. The couple moved to Thief River Falls where they raised four children. Bebe was employed at the Land O' Lakes Creamery, Rex Café, Inga's Café and the Best Western Hotel and Café. Later she was employed as a laborer at Arctic Cat until her retirement in 1980. Her husband died on August 23, 1998.

Bebe enjoyed playing various musical instruments, dancing, fishing, gardening, playing cards, playing bingo, making quilts and crocheting. She was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries.

Survivors include her daughters, Carla (Bill) Barnell of Seattle, Wash. and Vienna (Bill) Waale-Besch of Seattle, Wash.; sons, Steve (Linda) of East Grand Forks and Brian of St. Hilaire; three grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Rhodes of Los Angeles, Calif., Mae Peterson of Seattle, Wash., Hycinith Cullins of Palm Dale, Calif., Maxine Gronvold of Halstad and Lavon Gunderson of Broomfield, Colo.; and a brother, Vernon Peterson of Seattle, Wash.

Bebe was preceded in death by her husband, Hans; her parents; a sister, Hazel Knutson; and a brother, Alan Peterson. A00003B2002OT09
