Thief
River Falls - Kevin Voecks, 45, died Tuesday,
February 26, 2002 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks,
N.D.
Funeral
services were held at 10 
a.m.
on Saturday, March 2, at Green Funeral Home in
Thief River Falls with Shirley Teske officiating.
Vanessa Anderson provided special music, and all of
Kevin's family and friends served as casketbearers.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River
Falls.
Kevin
Scot Voecks was born on February 20, 1957 in Thief
River Falls, the son of Ervin and Evelyn (Nelson)
Voecks. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer
Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and attended
school in Thief River Falls, graduating from
Lincoln High School in 1975.
Kevin
worked at various jobs around the state and
suffered from a long mental illness that disabled
him.
He
enjoyed sports during his childhood. He also
enjoyed music and spending time with his family,
especially his nieces and nephews.
Kevin
is survived by two sisters, Karen Voecks of
Bismarck, N.D. and Lorri (David) Johnson of
Warroad; four brothers, Loren (Mary) Voecks, Terry
(Cheryl) Voecks, and Brian (Colette) Voecks, all of
Thief River Falls, and Allen Voecks of Brainerd; a
sister-in-law, Donna (Jimmie) Bessander of
Ishpeming, Mich.; and several nieces and
nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents,
and two brothers, Daryl and one in
infancy.
