- Patricia VanCamp, 63, died on Wednesday,
September 24, 2003 at Altru Hospital in Grand
Forks, N.D.
Funeral
services were held on
Monday,
September 29 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief
River Falls with the Rev. Gary Barrett
officiating.
Patricia
"Pat" Ann Harlin was born on September 10, 1940 in
Cass Lake, the daughter of Harold Raymond "Ray" and
Hilma Lillian "Lil" (Erickson) Harlin. She grew up
in Cass Lake and moved with her family to Bagley,
where she attended high school, graduating in 1958.
Following high school, she worked for Bell
Telephone in Madison, Wisc.
On
August 17, 1960, Pat was united in marriage to
Richard "Dick" VanCamp in Ecorse, Mich. The couple
lived in Duluth for a year, then moved to Thief
River Falls in the spring of 1961. They bought a
farmstead north of Thief River Falls in 1968. Pat
worked as a nurses aid and ward clerk at Northwest
Medical Center beginning in 1961 until her
retirement in September 2000. She enjoyed reading,
crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and feeding
the deer and birds. Pat loved nature and spending
time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was an active member of the International
Woodworkers Union.
Survivors
include her husband, Dick; four children, Norma
(Jeff) Wagoner of Big Springs, W.V., Rick (Mendi)
of Fargo, N.D., Trish (Kory) Albert of Bismarck,
N.D., and John (Pam) of Fargo, N.D.; 10
grandchildren; one brother, Dick (Carol) Harlin of
Grand Forks, N.D.; and one sister, Pam (Tom)
Polchow of Duluth.
Pat
was preceded in death by her parents and her
brother, Don.
