Ellen Tweten, 76
Lake
Park - Mary Ellen Tweten, 76, of rural Lake
Park, passed away on Thursday October 26, 2003 at
her home under hospice care. Funeral services will
be held Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at Wright Funeral
Chapel. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetary in
Glyndon.
Mary
Ellen was born in Thief River Falls, on September
23, 1927 to Ed and Florence Borgen. She grew up and
attended school in Thief River Falls. She married
George Tweten on April 6, 1946 in Moorhead. They
farmed in Glyndon and Lake Park until 1960 when
they moved to Moorhead, raised six children, taught
Sunday school, and was a member of the Royal
Neighbors of Glyndon. In 1990 they moved to their
lake home in Rural Lake Park until her
death.
She
is survived by her husband George Tweten, Lake
Park; two sons, David (Judy), Audubon and Brian
(Carrie), Moorhead; three daughters, Susan (Larry)
Olin, Walker, Becky (Terry) Swanson, Fargo, N.D.
Wendy (Mark) Dillon, Centennial, Colo.; one
daughter-in-law, Deb, Moorhead; one brother, Larry
(Linda) Borgen, Magalia, Calif.; one sister, Judy
(Dwane) Horton, Plains, Mont.; thirteen
grandchildren; and three great
grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; one son
Timothy; four brothers, Jim, Howard, Steward,
David; and one grandchild.
