David Twamley, 34

Twamley ObitThief River Falls - David Twamley, 34, died Monday, February 26, 2001 at his home in Rocksbury township.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 2, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis Weiland officiating. Readings were presented by Marilyn Delorme and Lori McCallum. Special music was provided by Franciscan Monks and soloist Joel Hylden.

Casketbearers were Billy Anderson, Bart Swanson, Rodney Anderson, Lonnie Guderjohn, Bill Rodgers Jr., Tom Twamley, Bob Stoffel, Paul Rose, James Martinson, John Martinson and Monte Hanson. Honorary casketbearers included Joe Lesmeister, Jon Brown, Stan Leach, Brad Olson, Pete Gudmanson, Danny Twamley, Ralph Twamley, Marlon Ramsruad, Vern Tollefson, Rick Welsh and Todd Oasheim. Burial was in Hoople Cemetery in Hoople, N.D. with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.

David Jay Twamley was born on December 5, 1966 in Rolette, N.D., the son of Merlin and Maxine (Delorme) Twamley. He attended school in Hoople, N.D., graduating from Hoople High School in 1985. He was employed as assistant manager at Shananigan's Restaurant in Grafton, N.D.

On July 9, 1994, David was united in marriage to Nancy Sobolik at St. Luke's Church in Veseleyville, N.D. The couple lived in Grand Forks for a short time before moving to Thief River Falls in 1997. David worked as a cook for Gobell's Cafeteria at Northland Community and Technical College. During the summer, he also worked for Wayne's Lawn Service.

He enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding and snowmobiling. David also enjoyed playing pool and was active in pool league. He was an avid UND Fighting Sioux fan.

David is survived by his wife, Nancy; three sons, Nicholas, Zachary and Tyler; his mother, Maxine; three sisters, Jackie Twamley of Park River, N.D., Kristi Twamley of Hoople, N.D. and Gail Martinson of Grafton, N.D.; four brothers, James Martinson of Niche, N.D., John Martinson of Dickinson, N.D., Danny Twamley of Kennedy and Tommy Twamley of Reynolds, N.D.; and his grandmother, Jane Delorme.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandfather, Louis Delorme. A00003B2000MA07
