Red
Lake Falls - Rose Tvedt, 84, died Monday,
February 19, 2001 at her home in Red Lake
Falls.
Mass
of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on
Thursday, February 22, at St. Joseph's Catholic
Church at Red Lake Falls with Father Dennis Wieland
officiating. Marjorie Schafer will be the organist.
Casketbearers will be grandsons Stanley Tvedt,
Marvin Tvedt, Warren Tvedt, Kevin Tvedt, Jeff
Tvedt, Jerry Tvedt and Jonathan Tvedt. Honorary
casketbearers will be all of Rose's granddaughters.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery
at Red Lake Falls.
Visitation
will be held today (Wednesday, February 21) from 5
to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at
Johnson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls. Visitation
will also be held for one hour prior to services at
the church.
Rose
Cook was born on June 1, 1916 in Burkey, N.D., the
daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Tenens-Kremers)
Cook. The family moved to Oklee in 1928 when Rose
was 12 years old.
On
August 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to
Henry Tvedt Sr. at Oklee. The couple lived in Oklee
and moved to Red Lake Falls in 1941, moving into
the home where Rose continued to reside on October
11, 1944. Henry died on December 27,
1988.
She
enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, gardening,
flowers, playing cards and especially spending time
with her sons, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Rose
is survived by six sons, Henry Jr. (Florence) Tvedt
of Plummer, Kenneth (Marilyn) Tvedt of Wrenshall,
Ole (Karen) Tvedt of Red Lake Falls, Joseph
(Darlene) Tvedt of Cloquet, James (Linda) Tvedt of
Red Lake Falls and John (Mary) Tvedt of Mentor; 19
grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two
sister-in-law; and many nieces and
nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, a son,
Jerome, two great-granddaughters, her parents, four
sisters and three brothers.
