Norris Trontvet, 92

Thief River Falls &endash; Norris Trontvet, 92, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.

Funeral service will be held Trontvet, Norris 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Evangelical Free Church, Thief River Falls, with Reverend Jim Howard officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the Johnson Green Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Norris I. Trontvet was born Jan. 13, 1911, at his parents home in Star Township, Pennington County, the son of Olaf and Gunda (Rensla) Trontvet. He attended Cloverleaf Country School and Goodridge High School.

Norris and his brother, Gilbert, farmed the home place in Erie, from 1938-1946. Then in 1946, he purchased land northeast of Thief River Falls, where he continued farming, doing the work he loved, until his retirement in 1972.

On November 9, 1941, Norris was united in marriage to Dorothy Emma Eidelbes in a double wedding ceremony with Norris' sister Janet and Orville Kveno.

Norris was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and was actively involved in the ministry of the church. For Norris, the most important decision he made was when he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in 1948. His heart's desire was for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to accept Christ as their personal Savior and to live for Jesus. Norris loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include wife, Dorothy, Thief River Falls; five children, Ronald (Carolyn) Trontvet, Thief River Falls, Darrel Trontvet, Buffalo, Naomi (Merv) Sorenson, Maple Plain, Renae (John) Grams, Stewartville, and Debra (Jon) Christopherson, Monticello; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother Orville (Bobbie) Trontvet, Grand Forks, N.D.; one sister Janet (Orville) Kveno, Santa Barbara, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chris Trontvet; sisters, Pearl Dalzell and Inga Trontvet; brothers, Orvin and Gilbert Trontvet. A00003B2002JA29
