James Trenary, 60

Grand Rapids, N.D. - James Trenary, 60, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, N.D.

A funeral was held on Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, N.D. with Rev. Gayler Korsmo officiating. Interment was in Grand Rapids Cemetery with Dahlstrom Funeral Home of LaMoure, N.D. in charge of the arrangements.

James Elwood Trenary was born on May 30,1941 near Berlin, N.D., the son of Richard and Rosella (Hansen) Trenary. He grew up and attended school near Berlin. After completing his education, James entered the U.S. Navy and served for four years.

On February 17, 1976, he was united in marriage to Lotte Jendryehowski in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple owned and operated the Grand Rapids Bar until 1984 when they began traveling all over the United States as Jim worked for Coronado Construction Company, based in Salina, Kansas. After Lotte died in 1998, Jim continued to reside in Grand Rapids and had been working as a mechanic and welder for Carl Larson of Fullerton, N.D.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles (Darlene) Trenary of Castlewood, S.D. and Stanley Trenary of Fessenden, N.D.; nine sisters, Leora (Ken) Anderson of Fort Ransom, N.D., Aris Miears of Bemidji, Lois Church of Nortonville, N.D., Audrey (Wayne) Mikkelson of Langdon, N.D., Mary (Ken) Clark of Oklahoma City, Okla., Marty Black and Linda (Mel) Schuler, both of Bismarck, N.D., Rosalie (Don) Hankel of Brandon, S.D., and Kim (Mike) Raper of McAlester, Okla.; an aunt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and infant sister, Lilly Jane; and three nieces. A00003B2002JU05
