Elizabeth Tollefson, 76

Dilworth - Elizabeth "Betty" Tollefson, 76, formerly of Red Lake Falls, died Monday, February 25, 2002 at her home in Dilworth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2002 at Calvary Elizabeth Tollefson Obit Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire with Rev. Mark Aslenson officiating. Casketbearers will be Todd Tollefson, Mike Mireault, Jim Tollefson, Ryan Tollefson, Bobby Heroff, and Jared LeMoine. Honorary casketbearers will include all of Elizabeth's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in St. Hilaire.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at Calvary Lutheran Church on Friday.

A funeral service will be held at on Thursday, February 28, at 11:30 a.m. at Dilworth Lutheran Church in Dilworth with Rev. Mark Aslenson officiating. Visitation for this service will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Elizabeth Ann Rourke was born on June 22, 1925 at Langdon, N.D., the daughter of David and Mae (Hewitson) Rourke. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Osnabrock (N. Dak.) High School, graduating in 1943.

On December 4, 1943, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Ronald Tollefson. The couple moved to a farm near Red Lake Falls in 1949 and farmed there until 1988 when they moved to Dilworth. Elizabeth continued to make her home there after Ronald's death on October 13, 1990.

While living near Red Lake Falls, she was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church for 35 years. In Dilworth, she was a member of Dilworth Lutheran Church. She was also a 47-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a 25-year member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, quilting, fishing, bingo, Twins baseball, and stock car racing.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Schultz and Debra Heroff, both of Hugo, Darla (John) LeMoine of Thief River Falls, and Lona (Keith) Thode of Red Lake Falls; four sons, Ted (Kathy) of Glyndon, Mitchell (Pat) of Cushing, Wisc., Terry (Renae) of Lino Lakes, and Lance (Tammy) of Dilworth; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice (Jack) Abrams of Kalamazoo, Mich.

In addition to her husband, Ron, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dorothy Hammond, Ella Porter, and Evelyn Jean Damaske; a brother, Bill Rourke; and a son-in-law, Stan Schultz. A00003B2002FB27
