Mary Thompson, 97

Thief River Falls - Mary Thompson, 97, died on Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Tim McGee officiating. Casketbearers will be Tom Larson, Aaron Larson, Kevin Hegtvedt, Delwin Schob, Larry Myhrer and Dwight Tangquist. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Mary Anna Dub was born in Pisek, N.D., on December 1, 1905, the daughter of Bohumil and Mary (Cicha) Dub. She was baptized at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pisek, N.D., and attended country school.

Mary was united in marriage to Cy Thompson in Crookston. She worked as a nurse's aide at Oakland Park Sanatorium and Mercy Hospital, both in Thief River Falls. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, crocheting, quilting and cooking. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, St. Jude and Johanna Circle, the Catholic Daughters of America, a trustee with the National Catholic Society of Foresters - St. Anne's Court 855.

Survivors include two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; one brother, Leo Dub of Orafino, Idaho; four sisters, Margaret Kotaska of Thief River Falls, Lucy O'Regan of Park River, N.D., Hermina Jehlicka of San Diego, Calif., and Dorothy Greenway of Seminole, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cy; a daughter, Leona Broeker; five brothers; and one sister.
