Morris Swenson, 68

Newfolden - Morris Swenson, 68, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at his home in Newfolden.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 2 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Philip Rokke officiating.

Morris Duane Swenson was born in Argyle on December 1, 1934, the son of Carl M. and Olga (Skadsem) Swenson. He was baptized at the Alma Church. He grew up and attended country school in Marshall County and finished school in Thief River Falls. He worked on farms in North Dakota. Morris served during the Korean War. He moved to California, where he worked as a machinist.

He married Kathryn Thomas on August 10, 1959. He moved to Reno, Nev., in 1994, where he lived until 1998 when he returned to Newfolden. He enjoyed cars, car races, car shows, traveling and visiting.

Survivors include a son, Marvin of Rosamond, Calif.; two grandchildren; and brothers, Harvey of Viking and Clyde of Newfolden.

Morris was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharie Swenson; his parents and grandparents; a sister, Sybil Peterson; and a brother, Roy.
