Forks, N.D. - Margaret G. Swanson, 74, died
Friday, December 28, 2001 at Altru Hospital in
Grand Forks, N.D.
Services
were held Monday, December 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the
St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center in Grand Forks.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand
Forks with Amundson Funeral Home in charge of the
arrangements.
Margaret
Grace Bruggeman was born on January 1, 1927 in
Brooks, the daughter of John and Anna (Cote)
Bruggeman. She grew up in Plummer and graduated
from high school in Mentor. She worked for the
University of North Dakota Housing Office as a
secretary from 1945 to 1951, the Naval Regional
Accounts Office in Seattle, Wash. from 1951 to 1953
and General Mills in Minneapolis from 1953 to
1954.
On
October 18, 1954, Margaret married Loren F. Swanson
at the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center in Grand
Forks. Loren died on February 24, 1979. Margaret
returned to the UND Housing Office, working there
from 1979 to 1991.
Survivors
include four daughters, Ann Swanson of Bottineau,
N.D., Joan (Larry) Fladhammer of Maple Lake near
Mentor, Lori Swanson of Grand Forks and Janet
(Gregg) Fossell of Lexington, S.C.; a son, Steve
(Kristi) Swanson of Maple Lake near Mentor; two
brothers, Kenneth Bruggeman of Crookston and John
Bruggeman of Erskine; a sister, Lorette Bruggeman
of Crookston; and eight grandchildren.
In
addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in
