George Supernois, 84

Erskine - George W. Supernois, 84, died on Monday, September 9, 2002 at his home in Erskine.

George W. Supernois was born on April 24, 1918, the son of Louis Allen and Olive Genny (Mellott) Supernois in Tracy, Iowa. He was baptized on June 20, 1918 in Pleasentville, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in Erskine and worked as an entertainer before entering the Air Force on February 27, 1942. George served with the 811th Unit at Lawson Field in Georgia. He also served in the Asiatic, Pacific, European, African and Middle East.

On December 6, 1941, George married Deloris "Fern" Pellerin in Brooks. He moved to Wayne, Mich. where he worked in Garwood, Ind. as a welder. In 1969, he retired and moved back to the family farm near Erskine. He was a member of the Red River Valley Fiddlers Association for many years. He loved to play the fiddle, piano and accordian.

Survivors include a daughter, Cherie (Keith) Berry of Erskine; three sons, George of Wayne, Mich., Patrick (Linda) of Inkster, Mich. and Mark of Wayne, Mich.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Hanson of Long Prairie.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; his parents; grandparents; and a brother, Gordon.
