Sunsdahl, 73
Soudan
- Joan H. Sunsdahl, 73, died Monday, November
26, 2001 at Virginia Regional Medical
Center.
Funeral
services were held Friday, November 30, at 1 p.m.
at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower with Rev.
Leroy Holmes officiating. Burial was in Lakeview
Cemetery in Tower. Anderson's Landmark Funeral Home
of Virginia was in charge of the
arrangements.
Joan
H. Stenvik was born on May 21, 1928 in Hickory
Township of Pennington County, the daughter of
Harold and Anne (Rindahl) Stenvik. She grew up in
Duluth and Thief River Falls and graduated from
Lincoln High School.
On
June 29, 1947, Joan married Virgil Sunsdahl in
Thief River Falls. The couple moved to Goodridge,
farming there until they moved to Soudan in 1955.
For the past 15 years, the couple had wintered in
Mission, Texas. Virgil died on January 5,
2001.
Joan
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of
Tower.
Survivors
include three daughters, Geraldine (Jerry) Isadore
of Duluth, Joyce (Dale) Swanson of Soudan and
Kristine (Rolf) Madole of Warner-Robbins, Ga.; two
sons, Donald Sunsdahl of Virginia and James (Lynn)
Sunsdahl of Soudan; 13 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ordell
(Chester) Solberg of Goodridge, Beverly Kirschman
of Burnsville and Yvonne Hedlund of
Anoka.
In
addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death
by her parents; a sister, Mavis Clausen; and a
