- Alvina Stusynski, 71, died Saturday, April
14, 2001 at Karlstad Healthcare Center in Karlstad
as a result of injuries sustained in a March 14,
2001 automobile accident in Kansas City,
Mo.
Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday,
April 20, at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian
with Rev. Larry Wieseler officiating. Organists
will be Kristine Stusynski, Elizabeth Stusynski and
Melanie Warne. Soloists will be Frank Borowicz,
Kristine Stusynski and Anna Stusynski. Meredith
Walton and Melanie Warne will be song leaders, and
Jack Rominski will be lector. Altar servers will be
Tyler Stusynski, Danie Stusynski and Kimberly
Stusynski. Casketbearers will include Ted
Wawrzyniak, Corey Stusynski, Adam Stusynski, Aaron
Stusynski, Scott Stusynski and Mark Szklarski Jr.
Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery in
Florian.
Visitation
will be held Thursday, April 19, after 5 p.m. with
a 7 p.m. prayer service at Assumption Catholic
Church. Visitation will also be held for one hour
prior to services at the church Friday.
Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren is in charge
of the arrangements.
Alvina
Rose Borowicz was born on August 18, 1929 in Wright
township of Marshall county, the daughter of Steve
and Mary Ann (Chwialkowski) Borowicz. She attended
school at Florian Country School.
On April
6, 1948, she was united in marriage to Ludwig
Stusynski. The couple moved to their home near
Strandquist where they farmed and raised their
family.
Alvina
was a member of Assumption Catholic Church of
Florian. Assumption Ladies Sodality, PNA and PNA
Group Dancers, Polish Choir and Eagles
Auxiliary.
She
enjoyed playing cards, spending time with friends
and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed
gardening and growing flowers.
Alvina is
survived by her husband, Ludwig; five daughters,
Annette (John) Wawrzyniak and Louise (Mark)
Szklarski, both of Strandquist, Josephine (Keith)
Johnson of Grand Forks, N.D., Elledean (Darrin)
Moffett of Manvel, N.D. and Monica (Joe) Bushaw of
Pleasant Hill, Mo.; five sons, Julian (Linda),
Kenneth (Mary) and David (Diane), all of
Strandquist, Vernon (special friend Christi
Halbasch) of Thief River Falls and Virgil (Lori) of
Karlstad; 34 grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edmund (Janice)
Borowicz of Strandquist and Adrian (Theresa)
Borowicz of Cottage Grove; and many nieces and
nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents and an infant
sister.
