Scott Stenzel, 22

Stenzel-ScottThief River Falls - Scott Stenzel, 22, died on Monday, August 26, 2002 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Donald Kirchner officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Scott Wesley Stenzel was born on February 8, 1980, the son of Wesley and Melanie (Childs) Stenzel in Blue Earth. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Earth and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. He attended school at Knox Elementary, Franklin Middle School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998. Scott graduated from Northland Community and Technical College with a degree in architectural design. He worked as an instructor with the Northern Lites Gymnastics, worked at The Times, Concrete, Inc in Grand Forks, N.D. and as a painter in Grand Forks, N.D. for a short time.

Scott enjoyed computers, four-wheeling, driving his Jeep and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Vikings fan and liked going to the Twin Cities to see their games. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his parents, Wesley and Melanie Stenzel of Thief River Falls; grandparents, Florence Childs of St. James and Russell and Elaine Stenzel of Henderson; a sister, Jennifer (Steve) Kriel of Thief River Falls; special friend, Krystal Hoeper; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Catherine Dulas, Henry Dulas, Otto and Pearl Stenzel and Henry and Maude Childs. A00003B2002AG28
