20, 2001 at Stockton, Calif.
Burial
will be in Sacramento, Calif.
Edna
Phyllis Steien was born on March 22, 1914 in
Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Gisle and
Ingeborg (Stromsmoe) Steien. Following the death of
her father, she moved with her mother to Minnesota
in 1920. Edna attended elementary school in Middle
River and attended Lincoln High School in Thief
River Falls, graduating in 1932.
After
graduating from North Western Hospital School of
Nursing in Minneapolis in 1936, she worked as a
registered nurse in Thief River Falls for several
years. Edna moved to Sacramento, Calif. and worked
at Mercy Hospital as a supervisor of the
post-operative room until her retirement in 1970.
She continued to reside in Sacramento until 1997
when she moved to Stockton.
Survivors
include several cousins.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and a brother,
Gordon.
