Smith, Anthony PhotoNaples, Fla. - Anthony James Smith, 9, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in Naples, Fla. as a result of a swimming accident.

A memorial service will be be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 23 at Ekelund Lutheran Church in rural Goodridge, with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Anthony James Smith was born September 1, 1994 in Thief River Falls, the son of Jimmy and Linda Smith. He grew up and attended school in Goodridge and Naples.

He enjoyed playing Little League Baseball, swimming, reading books, rock climbing, X-Box and Nintendo. He received a game ball for being the most improved on his team.

Survivors include his father, Jimmy Smith of Goodridge; his mother, Linda Smith of Naples, Fla.; one sister, Brandi Super of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Bobby (Lacey) Muse of Bloomington; his grandmother, Joan Waibel of Naples, Fla. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Waibel and James and Lois Smith.
