Wannaska
- Ronald Harley Skime, 59, died on Friday,
October 18, 2002 at his home.
Funeral
services will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 11
a.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Skime.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 23 from
4:30 to 7 p.m. with a 4:30 family service at the
church. Interment will be in Bethesda
Cemetery.
Ronald
Harley Skime was born on June 11, 1943, the son of
Harold and Helena (Foss) Skime in Roseau. He grew
up and attended school in Skime and later graduated
from Roseau High School in 1961. On February 22,
1961, he married Mary Lou Zuberbier. During his
schooling, he worked for Marvin's hauling pulp
wood. After high school, he worked at the Bell's
Service Station, Roseau Co-op Elevator and at
Arctic Cat in the engineering department for many
years. He later worked with Ezra Davey moving
buildings as a logger and cutting and hauling pulp.
Finally, he worked with Hothunsen Construction as a
heavy machinery operator.
On
September 24, 2002, he was remarried to Mary Lou.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping his twin
brother, Roger, on the farm. He was a member of
Bethesda Lutheran Church.
Survivors
include his wife, Mary Lou Skime of Wannaska; four
sons, Tim (Mary) of Roseau, Mitch of Wannaska,
Darwin (Teri) of Wannaska and Jamie (Dana) of
Wannaska; six grandchildren; a brother, Roger
(Bernice) of Thief River Falls; a niece and nephew
and their children.
Ronald
was preceded in death by his parents.
