Inver
Grove Heights - Ebba K. Sihlberg, 91, formerly
of Strandquist, died on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at
the Woodland Heights Healthcare Center in Inver
Grove Heights.
Funeral
services were held at 10
a.m.
on Tuesday, June 15, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in
Strandquist, with Pastor Curt Matz officiating.
Casket bearers included Tom Klaren, Robert Shanley,
Tracy Tunheim, Megan Donaldson, Nicole Shanley,
Ryan Shanley, Cory Tunheim, Jared Tunheim and
Michael Klaren.
Ebba
Katherine Sihlberg, the daughter of Victor and
Katherine (Isaacson) Erickson was born October 14,
1912, in Strandquist. She attended school and grew
to womanhood in the Strandquist and Newfolden
communities and graduated from Newfolden High
School in 1930. Ebba was baptized and confirmed in
the Lutheran faith.
On
December 7, 1934, she was united in marriage to
Earl Sihlberg in Thief River Falls. Following their
marriage, the couple farmed in West Valley Township
of Marshall Co. near Strandquist. Ebba was a
long-time member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church of
Strandquist. Earl died on April 7, 1993 and Ebba
moved to South St. Paul where she made her home for
10 years, prior to living with her son and
daughter-in-law Boyd and Virginia in Danbury, Wis.
for one year. She had resided for the past several
weeks at the Woodland Heights Healthcare Center in
Inver Grove Heights.
Survivors
include one son, Boyd (Virginia) of Danbury, Wis.;
three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters;
four great-grandsons; one sister-in-law, Viola
Erickson of Long View, Wash.; in addition to
several nieces, nephews, cousins and other
relatives.
Ebba
was preceded in death by her husband, her parents,
nine brothers and one sister.
