Raymond Siebert, 69

Virginia - Raymond L. Siebert, 69, formerly of Britt, died Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at the Virginia Convalescent Center.

Funeral services were held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Virginia. Military honors were accorded by the Virginia Color Guard. Burial was in Zim Cemetery in McDavitt Township with Range Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Raymond L. Siebert was born on June 8, 1932 in Goodridge, the son of Paul and Alma (Rausch) Siebert. He grew up and attended school in Goodridge and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

On November 23, 1957, Raymond was united in marriage to Janice Maki in Britt. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Stephen and Gilbert prior to moving to Britt. The couple raised several hundred rabbits of different breeds, and Raymond cut and sold firewood. He was employed as a brakeman for Erie Mining Co. until his retirement in 1994. Janice died on December 26, 1993.

He was a member of United Steel Workers Union Local 410B and Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Raymond is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Kirby) Jordahl and Rosalie (Dave) Marolt, both of Gilbert; three sons, Harlan Siebert of Virginia, Loren (Sue) Siebert of Pepperell, Mass. and Larry (Amy) Siebert of Hibbing; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene (Stanley) Panek of Goodridge and Betty (Harold) Harder of Thief River Falls; and a brother, Kenneth (Donna) Siebert of Iron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Doris Dalton; two brothers, Gordon and Harold; and three infant siblings. A00003B2002JA16
