Thief
River Falls - Inga L. Shetler, 98, died on
Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Oakland Park Nursing
Home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday,
Jan. 3, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River
Falls, with Reverend Mark Helgeland officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief
River Falls.
Inga
L. Gulseth was born on April 12, 1905 in Poplar
Grove Township of Roseau County, the daughter of
Alex and Marie (Kirkholt) Gulseth. She attended
county schools in Roseau, Marshall and Clay
Counties and was baptized and confirmed in Zion
Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
On
December 12, 1928 she was united in marriage to
Ralph Waldo Shetler. She owned the Main Sandwich
Shop from 1944-1951, Inga's Café from
1951-1969 and managed apartments from 1969-1992.
Inga
was a member of BPO Does, Eagles Aux, Friendship
Club, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Business and
Professional Women and the Thief River Falls
Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed golfing, bowling,
cards, doing crafts and watching the Minnesota
Twins.
Survivors
include 4 grandsons; 8 great-grandchildren, one
brother, Lester (Kelly) Gulseth of Washington; one
sister, Ella of Washington and special friend,
Floyd Hageman, Jr.
She
was preceded in death by her husband; daughter
Jacqueline (Arnold) Engelstad; brothers and sisters
Ida Gulseth, Ingulf, Garfield, Alvin, Milton,
