- Lawrence E. Senum, 85, died Tuesday, June 25,
2002 at his home in Kennedy.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, June 29, at Maria
Lutheran Church in Kennedy with Rev. Kenneth Losch
and Mylo Carlson presiding. Maureen Eukel was the
organist. Casketbearers were Floyd Seeba, Robert
Arneson, Marvin Hanson, and Charles Lindberg.
Interment was in Kennedy Cemetery with Hughes
Funeral Home of Hallock in charge of the
arrangements.
Lawrence
was born on May 10, 1917 in Pennington County, the
son of George and Jennie (Holmstrom) Senum. He grew
up near Thief River Falls and attended a country
school.
In
1942, he was united in marriage to Alice Srnsky at
Thief River Falls. Lawrence worked for the Soo Line
Railroad for several years. In 1960, he married
Anna Lindblad in Thief River Falls. In 1964,
Lawrence moved to Kennedy where he worked on the
Bryon Hanson farm for more than 35
years.
Survivors
include his wife, Anna; a daughter, Darlene Srnsky
in California; four sisters, Violet (Stanley) Ranum
of Neche, N.D., Evelyn Manderud of St. Paul,
Lorraine (Jay) Hendrickson of St. Paul, and Delores
(Mel) Anderson of Ventura, Calif.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Preceding
Lawrence in death were his parents; a son, Roger;
three brothers, Earl, Wilfred, and Edward; and two
half sisters, Caroline and Laura.
