Margaret
Seaverson, 71
Thief
River Falls - Margaret Seaverson, 71, died
Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at Northwest Medical
Center in Thief River Falls. Funeral services were
held at 2
p.m.
on Saturday, February 9, at Zion Lutheran Church in
Thief River Falls with Rev. Gary Johnson
officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and
Rev. Mike Schendel was the soloist. Grandchildren
serving as casketbearers included Paul Olson, Mark
Olson, Justin Olson, Joel Olson, Scott Onken and
Stephanie Onken. Members of the VFW and American
Legion auxiliaries served as honorary
casketbearers. Grandson Dillon Weber was the
crossbearer. Interment was in Landstad Cemetery in
Sanders Township of Pennington County with Green
Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the
arrangements.
Margaret
Estelle Jorgenson was born on May 27, 1930 in
Argyle, the daughter of Elmer Carl and Selma
Mathilda (Qualey) Jorgenson. She was baptized at
Alma Lutheran Church and confirmed at the Mission
Covenant Church in Warren. Margaret attended
elementary school and high school in
Warren.
On
December 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to
Pearcy Seaverson at Webster, S.D. Margaret worked
as a waitress in Thief River Falls and also in the
kitchen at Northwest Medical Center. Pearcy died on
April 5, 1990.
Margaret
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the VFW
and Northwest Medical Center auxiliaries. For the
past several years, she had volunteered at
Northwest Medical Center in the gift and coffee
shops.
She
enjoyed playing cards, sewing, and making lefse,
and while living at Gunderson Apartments, enjoyed
making bars and soups that she enjoyed sharing with
friends and neighbors.
Margaret
is survived by a son, Dennis Seaverson of Thief
River Falls; four daughters, Pamela (Dennis) Olson
of Stephen, Sherry (Don) Hunt of Warroad, Shirley
(Steve) Onken of Fargo, N.D., and Kelly (Alan)
Burda of Strathcona; seven grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; three step
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence
Przybylski of Warren and Marlys Giebel of Neenah,
Wisc.; a brother, Dennis (Nioka) Jorgenson of
Leesburg, Fla.; and several nieces and
nephews.
In
addition to her husband, she was preceded in death
by her parents and a sister, Jewel Jorgenson.
