Ione Sackett, 63

Erskine - Ione Sackett, 63, of Erskine, passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. I. Sackett 14, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Peter Satren officiating. Interment will be in Lima Cemetery, rural Winger. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements.

Ione Cecelia Ricke was born on April 18, 1940 in Woodside Township, rural Erskine, to Charles and Julia (Worden) Ricke. She grew up in Woodside Township and graduated from Erskine High School.

She was married to Walter Patterson. She was married to Donald Brumwell and to this union, four children were born, Clyde, Leslie, Fay and Glen. They resided in Erskine and Aurora, while Donald worked in the mines and the military.

She was married to Harold Keeler and they lived in Frazee, Hawley and Erskine. On July 6, 1990, she was united in marriage to James Sackett, and they made their home in Erskine.

Over the years, Ione did maintenance and housekeeping work in the area, including at the Union Lake-Lake Sarah Campground, the Embassy Community Center in Fosston, and Koehler Floral in Fosston.

Ione was a long-time, active Embassy member and sang with the Ambassadors of Praise Gospel singers for a number of years. She was also President of the Compassionate Friends for Bereaved Parents which covered the counties of Polk, Mahnomen, Red Lake, Clearwater, and Norman.

Survivors include her husband, Jim of Erskine; one son, Leslie Brumwell of Grafton, N.D.; and one daughter, Fay Aldrich of Mesa, Ariz.; one granddaughter; one brother, Duane Ricke of Mesa, Ariz.; and two sisters, Ina Harms of Grand Forks, N.D., and Beverly Sande of Erskine. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Clyde and Glen; one brother, Raymond; and two sisters, June and Junis (Tootsie). A00003B2003NV12
