- Glen A. Rygh, 78, died on Thursday, October
24, 2002 at the Sheltering Oaks Manor in
Roseau.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, October 28 at the
Riverside Lutheran Church in Wannaska. Interment
was in Mickinock Cemetery in Wannaska.
Glen
Rygh was born on January 14, 1924, the son of Knute
and Julia (Harby) Rygh in Cyrus. He moved to
Roseau, where he grew up and attended school,
graduating from Roseau High School in 1942. On
September 11, 1943, he was married to Annie
Erickson in Roseau. The couple farmed in Wannaska
until 1950, when they moved to Portland, Ore. where
Glen worked construction. In 1952, they moved back
to Wannaska where he worked at the Wannaska
Creamery. In 1955, he opened his own business,
Glen's Roseau Cash Produce, and operated it for
over 39 years until he retired. The couple moved to
Roseau in 1974 and have resided there
since.
Glen
enjoyed hunting, fishing, his family and all his
friends that would stop by and visit. He was a
member of the Riverside Lutheran Church in
Wannaska. Glen and Annie were married for 59
years.
Survivors
include his wife; children, Richard (Ellen) of
Salem, Ore., Bryan (Carol) of Candby, Ore., Terry
Rygh of Wannaska, Cornel (Rosie) of Warroad and
Angela (Dale) Jensen of Warroad; 15 grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth
Holmgren of Oregon.
Glen
was preceded in death by his parents; brothers,
Morris, James and Burton; and a sister, Dorothy
