Elsie
V. Ryba, 76

Middle
River - Elsie V. Ryba, 76, died on July 28,
2004 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in
Thief River Falls. She has resided there for the
past two years.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, July 31, at First
Lutheran Church in Middle River, with Pastor Curt
Matz and Pastor Michael Johnson officiating. Casket
bearers included
grandchildren,
Kevin Davidson, Corey Davidson, Kelly Kruta, Matt
Kasprowicz, Eric Kasprowicz, Tyler Ryba and Nolen
Ryba. Interment was held at Riverside Cemetery in
Middle River.
Elsie
Violet Ryba, the daughter of Ingvald and Mary
(Bakkum) Lien, was born on June 25, 1928, in Walsh
Co., near Edinburg, N.D. She attended school and
grew to womanhood there, and was baptized into the
Christian faith.
On
September 9, 1949, Elsie was united in marriage to
Ernest Ryba in Crookston. Ernest and Elsie made
their home at Fargo for two years, then moved to
Lankin, N.D.
In 1953,
they moved to their farm in Como Township of
Marshall Co., near Middle River. Ernest passed away
November 30, 1981 and Elsie continued to make her
home on the farm until 1994 when she moved to the
Royal Manor in Middle River.
Elsie
enjoyed bingo, quilting, needle point work and
especially following her grandson, Corey, in his
snowmobile racing competition.
She is
survived by three sons, Roger (LeMae) of Middle
River, Gary (Kristine) of Warroad and Arnold of
Thief River Falls; three daughters, Sharon (Ron)
Davidson of Holt, Gail (Ted) Kruta of Strathcona
and April (Tom) Kasprowicz of Roseau; 14
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister,
Norma (Earl) Walton of Middle River; three
sisters-in-law, Betty Ryba of Minot, N.D., Betty
Lien of Grafton, N.D., and Mayme Lien of Conway,
N.D.; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and
other relatives.
Elsie was
preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one
granddaughter; two sisters, Verna and Inez; and
four brothers, Walter, Ernest, Victor and Eldon.
