Delmer Rux, 71

Thief River Falls - Delmer Rux, 71, died on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Rux, Delmer Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30 (today) at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Dan Horn officiating. Brianna Geer will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Ken Murphy, Ray Olson, Jeff Lannoye, Loren Rux, DelRay Rux and Duane Rux. Honorary casketbearers will be all of Delmer's family and friends. Interment will be in the Rux Cemetery in rural Thief River Falls. Visitation will take place for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Delmer Rolland Rux was born on July 7, 1931, the son of Walter William Frederick and Lillie Lottie (Lenz) Rux in Reynolds, N.D. He was raised on a farm in North Dakota and moved to a farm west of Thief River Falls during his teenage years. On May 11, 1952, he married Gloria Mae Holt in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Delmer served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1953. He returned to Thief River Falls and worked several jobs over the years including painting, cab driving and truck driving. He was also employed at a gravel pit, Arctic Cat and was a custodian at Northland Community and Technical College.

Delmer had several interests including bird feeding and watching, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed capentry work and small engine repair. He was a member of the VFW in Thief River Falls, National Rifle Association, North American Hunting Club and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Thief River Falls; a son, Larry of Thief River Falls; two brothers, Clayton (Jean) Rux of Anoka and Franklin (Wendy) Rux of Worcester, Mass.; two sisters, Wanda (Clarence) Schroeder of Bemidji and June Olson of Little Fork; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Rux of Erskine and Donna Rux of Hopkins; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Delmer was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Floyd, Orlie and Howard; and a brother-in-law, Cecil Olson. A00003B2002OT30
