Eugene Ruud, 60

Roseau - Eugene Ruud, 60, died on Sunday, April 27, 2003 in Britton, S.D.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 10 at Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Roseau with Al Yamry officiating. Casketbearers were Clarence Dahl, Harvey Mugaas, Marlan Sorenson, Larry Mugaas, Lyle Johnson and Cheslie Ruud.

Eugene Herman Ruud was born on August 5, 1942, the son of Herman and Alice (Johnson) Ruud, in Roseau. He was raised on a farm and attended school in Gatzke. He worked for various farmers and the Erie Mining Company of Hoyt Lakes.

On March 8, 1968, he married Cindi Dull in St. Paul. The couple moved to Roseau, where he worked for the Row Lumber Co. In 1976, he began employment with Marvin Window Company until his retirement in 2000. After retiring, he and his wife moved to a farm in rural Pierpont, where he worked for the Roslyn school until he became ill. One of his greatest joys was raising and training horses in his spare time.

Survivors include his wife, Cindi; a son, Jeff; one brother, Roger; and a sister, Marie (Virgil) Sorenson.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents. A00003B2003MY21
