Rosett, 75

Ely -
John Rosett, 75, formerly of Goodridge, died on
Saturday, May 24, 2003 at his home.
Memorial
services were held on Thursday, June 12 at
Goodridge Lutheran Parish with the Rev. Bob Dahlen
officiating. Interment was in Ely Cemetery. A
"Remembering John" afternoon will be held on
Sunday, June 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Long Branch
in Winton.
John
LeRoy Rosett was born in rural Goodridge on
February 14, 1928, the son of Ludwig and Marie
(Limesand) Rosett. He was baptized and confirmed at
Zion Lutheran Church in Mavie. He grew up and
attended Marshall County School District and
Goodridge High School. He worked as a farm hand
until his induction into the United States Army in
November 1950. Upon his discharge, he moved to
Detroit, Mich., where he was employed by Ex-Cell-O
Corp. as a precision tool grinder for 14 years.
On May
19, 1955, he married Bernice (Peggy) Jones in Thief
River Falls. He and his family lived in Farmington,
Mich., until July 1966, when they moved to a farm
south of Ely. He owned and operated Babbitt Auto
Parts in Babbitt from 1967 to 1986, when he
retired. John was a life member of the VFW in
Babbitt and the Dorothy Molter Museum of Ely. John
will be missed by a host of friends, hunting and
fishing buddies and his canine companion,
Patsy.
Survivors
include his wife, Peggy; a son, Bill; daughters,
Linda Fearn, Betty Rosett and Lori (Ron) Dubbin,
all of Ely; four grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence
(Mae) of Babbitt and Richard (Dolly) of Embarrass;
and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was
preceded in death by his sister, Edna Hanson; a
son, Glen; and his parents.
