Linn Rigstad, 83

Greenbush - Linn Clifford Rigstad, 83, died on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held on Linn Rigstad Monday, February 10 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Rev. Bryce Fellbaum officiating. Linda Sovde was the organist and Marie Olson was the vocalist. Interment was in Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery in Skime with military honors accorded by the Moen-Zimek Post #88 American Legion of Greenbush.

Linn Clifford Rigstad was born on May 6, 1919, the son of John and Alice (Creighton) Rigstad in Skime. He grew up and attended school in Skime. He served in the United States Marines in World War II, where he was ommended for his specialties.

On November 18, 1945, he married Selma Diesen. The couple moved to Greenbush in 1946. Linn worked at the Northland Elevator in Greenbush and, later, for the City of Greenbush for 34 years. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #88, both in Greenbush. Linn enjoyed carpentry and yard work and loved traveling and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Selma; four sons, Steve of Minneapolis, Jeffrey (Linda) of Roseau, Les (Shari) of Minneapolis and Dr. Gene (Tracey) of Appleton, Wisc.; two daughters, Susan (Albert) Brag of New Brighton and Laurie (Paul) Breitenfeldt of Mosinee, Wisc.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

Linn was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Varian Tinjuim; and two brothers, Henry Rigstad and Raymond Creighton.
