San Diego, Calif. - Grace Eva Reller, 81, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Friday, January 31, 2003 at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego, Calif. Reller, Grace

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Dean Keeling officiating. Diane Johnson will be the soloist and organist. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Grace Eva Schulz was born on March 12, 1921, the daughter of Paul and Clara (Lenhart) Schulz in Radium. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended Warren High School, graduating in 1938.

On November 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Marcus Bernard Reller at the Warren Parsonage. She taught in Marshall County rural schools for nine years. The couple lived in Comstock Township for three years, then purchased a farm in Radium, where Marcus continued farming. They moved to Chicago, Ill. in 1952. Grace received her bachelor's degree in sociology, graduating with honors from Roosevelt University. Her husband worked in real estate. Grace taught briefly in Chicago public schools until their daughter was born. After Marcus' death in 1974, Grace and her daughter moved to San Diego, Calif., where she worked in market research and, later, for the Area on Aging, serving the senior population.

Grace loved to help people. She enjoyed good conversation, reading books and spending time in her garden.

Survivors include her daughter, Dawn (Dean) Keeling of San Diego, Calif.; one grandson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus, and her parents. A00003B2003FB12
