Janet L. Reese, 73 St. Hilaire - Janet L. Reese, 73, died Sunday, October 5, 2003, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 (tonight) at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel, Red Lake Falls, with Rev. Gary Graff officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday. All of Janet's grandchildren will be honorary casketbearers. Dawn Halvorson will provide special music. Janet Louise McBride was born July 10, 1930, the daughter of James E. and Gladys (Sheldon) McBride. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Meriden, Conn., where she was born and raised, graduating in 1948 from Meriden High School. On February 18, 1955, Janet was united in marriage to Ambrose Nicholas Reese in Meriden, where the couple made their home. Janet was employed by New England Bell Telephone Company, where she worked as an operator. The couple resided in Meriden for several years before settling and raising their children in Southington, Conn. In 1980, they moved to Plainville, Conn., until finally settling in St. Hilaire in 1997. Janet enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking, but her biggest enjoyment came from her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Ambrose; four children, Ricky (fiancée, Sharon Thomas), Meriden, Conn.; Dennis, New Britain, Conn., Gregory (Billie), West Hartford, Conn.; and Karen (Shawn) Hince, Brooks; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Audrey McBride, Loris Fuller and Norma Paresi.
