Ella Ranum, 80

Thief River Falls - Ella D. Ranum, 80, died on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at Ranum, Ella 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20 (today) at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Ida Nordvall will be the organist and Van Swanson will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be David Olson, Dale Olson, Marshall Ness, Gordon Markstrom, Curtis Farbo and Irvin Jarshaw. Honorary casketbearers will be all those in attendance. Interment will follow at Rindal Cemetery, near Rosewood. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Ella Deloris Lundberg was born on March 24, 1922, the daughter of Philip and Clara (Olson) Lundberg in Thief River Falls. She grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls. On February 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Stanley K. Ranum in Thief River Falls.

Ella enjoyed yard work, crocheting, reading, needlepoint and traveling. She spent winters in the south and enjoyed her cottage on Island Lake in the summer. She was active in AA and Al-Anon. Ella was also a Girl Scout leader and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Elodee (Tom) Johnson of Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and one son, Greg. A00003B2002NV20
