Thief
River Falls - Palmer Ramsey, 83, died on
Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at CNC Unit of Northwest
Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Friday,
June 18 at Evangelical Free Church in Thief River
Falls, with Rev. Jim Howard officiating. Casket
bearers included Paul Johnson, Nathan Liedberg, Dan
Trontvet, Ron Trontvet, Orville Trontvet and
Everett Kompelien. Interment was held at Greenwood
Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Palmer
Ramsey was born January 22, 1921 in Pennington
County, the son of James and Sophia (Renala)
Ramsey. He grew up, attended school, graduated High
School and also attended Crookston Agricultural
School for a year.
He
worked at Falls DAC, packaging resistors. His work
was very important to him. He resided at Johnson's
Boarding Home from June 2, 1974 until February 2,
2004, when he entered the CNC Unit of Northwest
Medical Center.
He
attended Evangelical Free Church in Thief River
Falls. His music was very important to him. He
played harmonica, violin, guitar and sang. His
favorite song was "You Are My Sunshine." He enjoyed
going to church, fishing, visiting with friends and
relatives and going out to lunch with Lana Sandahl.
Survivors
include his sister, Clara Dahlen of Thief River
Falls; one sister-in-law, Ruby Vagle of Thief River
Falls; several nieces and nephews; staff and
clients of Falls DAC; Johnson's Boarding Home and
special friend and guardian, Lana Sandahl of Thief
River Falls.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and brother,
Selmer.
