L. LeRoy Rahier, 74

Oklee - L. LeRoy Rahier, 74, died Saturday, July 21, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at Rahier Obit 10:30 a.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Maureen Mundt will be the organist, and special music will be provided by Eric and Patty Mickelson. Casketbearers will be Eric Mickelson, Arlen Brekke, Dale Brekke, Wayne Vettleson, Ron Hegge and Vincent Lundeen. Honorary casketbearers will be Bob Blumke, Jim Bendickson, Robert Torkelson, Orrin Anderson, Oscar Flateland, Leonard Rahier, Willard Rahier and Ralph Person. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Oklee.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

L. LeRoy Rahier was born on July 15, 1927 at Oklee, the son of Wilfred "Bill" and Alpha (Bender) Rahier. He attended a country school and later Oklee High School.

On September 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Janis Larson in Borup. LeRoy lived and farmed near Oklee all of his life. Janis died on August 4, 1998.

LeRoy served on the FHA board, creamery board and church boards of Valle and Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Gary Rahier of Oklee; three daughters, Sheryl Payne of Thief River Falls, Gayle Flateland of Oklee and Deborah (Greg) Whalen of Oklee; six grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Mandt of Oklee and Ethel (Bud) Emmer of Oak Creek, Wisc.; an aunt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife; parents; an infant daughter, Nancy Jean Rahier; and infant brother, Earl Rahier.
