Neb. - Vera Viola Pyle, 98, of Gering, Neb.,
died on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at Beverly
Health Care in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, September 20 at
Central Church of Christ in Gering, Neb. with Rev.
Victor McPeak officiating. Interment was in West
Lawn Cemetery in Gering, Neb. A memorial has been
established to the Central Church of
Christ.
Vera
Viola Magner was born on August 24, 1094, the
daughter of Harve and Bessie (Chilson) Magner in
Oberlin, Kan. She received her education in
Oberlin, Kan. She was united in marriage to Paul
Olson and the couple had five children. On November
23, 1944, she married Roscoe Pyle. The couple moved
to Minnesota in 1945 and then to Missouri in 1949
where they farmed. They retired to Forsythe, Mo.
and Canon City, Colo. before moving to Gering, Neb.
in 1980.
Vera
was a member of the Central Church of Christ, the U
and I Sunday School Class and a sewing club in
Gering, Neb.
Survivors
include her daughters, Gertie M. (David) Rahmig and
Joyce V. (Ben) Schaub, both of Gering, Neb.; sons,
Kenneth L. Olson of Apache Junction, Ariz. and
Keith L. (Vivian) Olson of Holt; brothers, Dale
Magner of Thief River Falls and Gaylord (Lucille)
Magner of International Falls; a sister Lucille
Skadsem of Newfolden; 19 grandchildren; and 35
great-grandchildren.
Vera
was preceded in death by her husbands, an infant
daughter, four brothers and one sister.
