Tom Posey, 50

Pelican Rapids - Tom Posey, 50, died Saturday, July 28, 2001 at the Region Burn Center in St. Paul.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, at Maplewood Lutheran Church in Dent with Rev. Erwin Toso officiating. Military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 5252 of Pelican Rapids. Larson Funeral Home of Pelican Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Myron Posey was born on January 18, 1951 in Moorhead, the son of Hubert and Blanche (Hanson) Posey. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1969 and entered the U.S. Army, serving until 1971. Tom returned to Fargo, N.D. where he attended Dakota Business College. In 1973, he began working for Bailly & Company in Fargo and worked there for several years. In 1977, he earned his certified public account license. Tome was the auditor for the City of Mapleton in North Dakota. He then worked for several firms in Northwood, N.D. and Fargo.

On May 8, 1992, he was united in marriage with Carol Olson in Grand Forks, N.D. In 1995, the couple moved to Lake Lida near Pelican Rapids. Since that time, Tom had worked as an accountant for Kiefer Companies.

He was a member of Lake Lida Property Owners and Pelican Rapids Economic Development.

Fishing was among his favorite pastimes.

Tom is survived by his wife, Carol Posey of Pelican Rapids; a stepson, Derek (Angie) Gaudry of Fargo, N.D.; a stepdaughter, Amber Gaudry of Bullhead City, Ariz.; three step grandchildren; a brother, Douglas (Pam) Posey of Fargo; and a sister, Cheryl (Butch) Irvine of Bismarck, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A00003B2001AG01
